In Seymour, I got used to unplugging my toothbrush if I wanted to warm a curling iron while drying my hair. Easy enough, right? But I discovered something living here that I didn’t even know I’d care about.
The Seymour house doesn’t have dual electric outlets beside the bathroom mirrors… but the barndo does! 🙂
Such a small mirror in a bathroom (remember, I’m down more than 14′ of bathroom countertop space here), and still there are TWO easy to reach outlets. Who doesn’t want more outlets?
A bay window at the Seymour house facing the front was a fabulous place for décor. I always wanted something on a timer to light up — especially at Christmastime — that was visible from the street. But that entire side of the wall had ZERO outlets from the front door all the way through to the kitchen. I got an estimate but at the time I didn’t want to spend $1000.
But if you’re building or remodeling – add outlets!!
If you’re building, figure in additional outlets. If you’re remodeling and have workers there anyway… add additional outlets when it’s more cost effective. It’s the little things like that you’ll appreciate for years to come. You know… the things you didn’t know you wanted.
And if you want to sell? While interested parties likely won’t be looking at where and how many outlets you have, you’ll stand out when you mention how convenient it is.
