another rainy spring day here in the ville

May 16, 2023

Beans were planted in the field next to the barndo instead of corn this year. The brown dirt is finally turning green. Poking through the ground about 3 or 4 inches now, those beans will appreciate the soft rain more than I do.

Dharma’s happy no matter the weather!

During the warmer weather, it feels like there’s something to do here every single day. I still need a load of mulch. We need to spray weeds. There’s still a bajillion boxes left that we need to burn even after Perry had a fire going for hours yesterday afternoon. And mowing/trimming is a never ending spring activity.

It won’t be long until the pool is delivered and set-up. That means more landscaping. And a deck built. And… more work!

I want too much! I know it and must control the impulses. 🙂

I’d love to replace one garage door with an entryway… with real doors and an overhang/porch. That project would be EXPENSIVE and would require more concrete to be poured. At some point though, I’m defeating the purpose of the whole downsize thing that was one of the reasons I chose to live here in the first place.

I think I’m going to settle for a back door to replace one window downstairs that leads out to the deck that will connect to the pool. That would allow direct access to the back yard and to the side deck. I plan to get a bid on that within the next couple days. Here’s hoping I don’t add 100 other projects on to that before we’re finished.
