When Katie, Jerilyn, and I did our weight loss project last year, I did Weight Watchers. Jerilyn drank water by the gallon and concentrated on low carb foods with one day a week designated as “cheat day” where she ate anything she wanted. Katie did meal prep with low carbs and also had a cheat day.
Weight Watchers is a great program — and it gives you the ability to “cheat” so long as you’re good throughout the week. It’s slow weight loss… and I know that’s good… but with so many FREE foods (that don’t count against your points), I ate those things like it was my job. 🙂
I’m doing something else this go around.
I’m cutting out most carbs (that bread in the photo above is 0 carb cardboard and the peanut butter on it is nearly non-existent) and trying the 16:8 intermittent fasting plan. I only lost 1 pound the first week which was disappointing, but I didn’t start the 16:8 plan until today. Basically, you eat for 8 hours and fast for 16 hours.
I’ll eat low carb meals starting at 11:00 AM and nothing insofar as food after 7:00 PM. That’s doable… right?
What I really need is to be rich so I could hire a personal chef.
I put out exactly what I want my puppies to eat. It’s not like they have a choice of when they’re going to get food or have input on creating the doggie menu. A personal chef could prepare my meals and I’d only get what was put in front of me. That would work!
The rest of the time I could just roam around or lie in the sun… just like Dharma and Merida. 🙂
