As I sit here typing in the early morning hours, I can think only of the ways having hound dogs is similar to having toddlers in the house.
Here are three examples:
ONE. Both dogs and toddlers depend on their caregivers for basic needs. They are basically the boss, right? They tell you when they want to eat and when to get up. Oh, and sometimes they get you up just so they can sleep with you near them.
TWO. Both have non-verbal communication. But they get their point across just fine with vocalizations to convey their needs and wants.
THREE. Dogs and toddlers each benefit from regular exercise and activities that engage both their minds and bodies.
Bonus example:
Neither care about the feelings of their caregivers. They have no concept of the fact said caregivers need sleep and wouldn’t give a shit even if they understood. 🙂
