I finally got the first mow of the season done yesterday, beating the rain by mere hours. The task wouldn’t be quite as horrible if I didn’t have 200 miles of things to weed-eat around. Today, my arms feel like jello but the yard looks decent considering it was the first spring clean-up.
I figure we have at least 6-weeks of mowing between rain drops. Of course, when it rains, the grass and weeds grow like crazy, and that means even more mowing.
Yard work is good exercise.
It engages all the major muscle groups, such as the arms, legs, shoulders, back and abdomen — I can verify that is true. It’s also said yard work improves mobility, helps build endurance, and even torches calories.
Tomorrow I get to sit in a (hopefully) quiet place.
Mr. Pesky has cataract surgery on eye #1 tomorrow so I’ll be taking him for the procedure. No food after midnight and no morning coffee means he’ll likely be a bit unpleasant to be around. I wonder who is going to tie his shoes for him for 2 weeks since bending over is prohibited. That task is above my pay grade. 😉
