When it feels like winter and it’s really spring it’s called dogwood winter. I think that’s what we’re going through in southern Indiana right now. It was 80° yesterday. This morning it’s 41° and snow — yes, snow — is in the forecast for tomorrow.

Spring Fever is a real thing, I guess.
People use the term “spring fever” to describe the feeling of excitement about spring and warmer weather. While it might not be a real thing now, it certainly was in the 18th century.
Because people didn’t have access to fresh fruit and vegetables, they would become deficient in vitamin C. It’s hard to be ambitious when your joints ache and your gums bleed so the seasonal illness was called spring fever. The name stuck.
