I have to admit, I’m getting used to this practice retirement gig and I’m loving it! At almost 10:30 AM on a work day, I’m still in my pj’s drinking coffee. When you don’t have to get up early, you can bake a persimmon pudding at close to midnight. (Recipe on whatifitdid.com.)
I have a pool man.
I wish I had more money in the bank for retirement instead of property investments. Sadly, it’s not like I can move my kid out to sell… but either way it’s doubtful I’ll starve. How many practice retirees have their own pool man?

My pool man is also a chef!
One of my better decisions was to buy Perry a Pit Boss smoker. I ordered 1/2 ham via a Walmart delivery and it was much smaller than I anticipated. Because of the size, Perry tried a different recipe — maple brown sugar — and it was AMAZING! Just ask those pesky neighbors.

Katie’s view that’s far, far away from any kind of retirement.
Katie sent me a photo she took from her work place in Tennessee this morning. It’s a view I’m not likely to experience here at the barndo… and I’m ok with that. 😉
