The new barndo driveway was completed yesterday. The old driveway crossed over property owned by the seller’s Dad who didn’t want to part with it. He wanted to keep the land so badly it took THREE surveys to get it right and that’s the sole reason for the delay to purchase. It also meant the daughter had to pay for those surveys and had the expense of putting in a new drive.
All of that for one small triangle of ground — the Ville’s own version of the Bermuda Triangle – the Barndo Triangle. 😯
All the good stuff happens on the East side of the property anyway. Things like exploring and walking to the creek…

And then came Ralph!
Ben and Colette left just before midnight but Katie was still here when we heard noises outside. Grabbing her pistol and a flashlight, Katie Oakley (Annie Oakley’s long lost descendent) went out to investigate and save us all from the hands of a serial killer. Instead, she put her eyes on Ralph.
Ralph is a HUGE racoon that visits often.
We see Ralphie prints on the rails of the deck sometimes and he left us a present on the top deck in the form of feces once. Coons are cute but are pretty vicious critters. I haven’t decided yet what we’re going to do about him.
