city or country… doesn’t matter so much when it’s stifling hot

Aug 24, 2023

It’s 80° and not yet 9:30 AM, and it’s only going to get worse as temps rise today. It’s predicted our heat value will be at least 113°. And it’s so flipping humid!

Going outside with the dogs late last night, it was still incredibly warm. What’s crazy is that when I came back inside, I could feel the moisture on my body. It wasn’t from sweat either. It’s just the air is horrible. My A/C is far from being set on ‘frigid’, but I was almost instantly cold — the transition so stark.

There’s more of the same this morning…

School closures because of the heat include the Ville.

Today, the weather experts are pointing at my area of Indiana and saying it’s dangerous. We’re under an excessive heat warning until tomorrow night as the temperature and humidity are both so high. C’ville school is sending the kiddos home at 1:00 PM today and tomorrow.

Since there’s not much use to be outside, it really wouldn’t matter if I currently lived back in Seymour. Nothing to really enjoy here since it’s outside that I like more than inside. And outside right now – especially with a dog blanket EVERY SINGLE TIME — is just too darned miserable to enjoy.
