grocery delivery incoming… no way i’m getting out

After being out and about yesterday, I opted for grocery delivery today. It’s now mid-morning and we’re still in single digits. The fact that I can get Walmart deliveries here is awesome. An item once on the barndo purchase’s “con list” (reasons NOT to move back to the Ville), is moot. Yay!

Call me Betty Crocker.

My Betty Crocker side has emerged! I tried a recipe I saw on FaceBook. Scary because it wasn’t a written recipe but only a video clip — and I don’t turn on sound for anything on FB because the way they have ads now makes the site mostly useless. I did it from memory and guesstimates.

Blueberry stuff in a pan that needs a real name.

Here’s the recipe… sort of… no clue if I could replicate this:

INGREDIENTS:
  • Sara Lee pound cake
  • 2 cans blueberry pie filling
  • Milk (about 2 cups)
  • Jello cheesecake pudding mix – large box
  • Cool Whip X-tra creamy (regular container size)
DIRECTIONS:
  • Cut the pound cake into bite-sized squares and cover the bottom of a 9″x14″ pan
  • Pour the blueberry pie filling on top of that.
  • Mix the milk, Jello pudding and cool whip until smooth — pour over filling
  • Top with fresh blueberries (optional)
  • Refrigerate 1 hour before serving

Review…

It’s good but could be better. My homemade no-bake cheesecake with Philadelphia cream cheese would’ve been better on top. Otherwise, for a QUICK throw together dessert, it was pretty darned good.
