After measuring and allowing for potential waste, I figured I needed around 60 rumblestones to place on the inside of the sidewalk before mulching the flowerbed. I ordered 80 instead, and upon delivery had 1,000 pounds of those suckers setting in the driveway. I didn’t know this beforehand, but 1000 pounds is called a kip.

That’s a lot of wheelbarrows full of heavy concrete.
I posted yesterday on whatifitdid.com that the previous owners of the barndo are decades younger than I am — and this project is a prime example of how young brains do things differently than old ones.
If I’d have built this place, the areas to landscape wouldn’t have been so large.
Yesterday, I loaded 51 of those 12.5 pound edgers into a wheelbarrow, and pushed/pulled said wheelbarrow up a step to the area where I needed them. It took me about a bajillion trips.
With a little help from Perry near the end, the one area to be landscaped is done and waiting on mulch to finish. I have 29 edging stones left and THANK GOODNESS we have a 95% chance of rain today. I need the rest. 🙂
